I grew up on a southern Kentucky farm, 17 miles from Clarksville, and loved every minute of being on the land. While growing up, farming was all I ever wanted to do. By the time I graduated high school I had already rented three farms and was well on my way. Twenty years and two neck surgeries later I decided to make a major change in my life. I felt that if I worked just as hard as I did farming, I could be successful in selling real estate. That’s when I became a licensed real estate agent.
Now, after another twenty years, I look back knowing it was the right decision. I work daily with Betsy and can honestly say we make a difference in people’s lives. While I work with land and some commercial, most of our sales are residential. Helping people with what is usually the largest investment they have. Whether it’s helping them find the perfect home to purchase or selling their home so they can move on to the next part of their journey in life, it’s a very rewarding business to be in.
While I make every effort to see the contract to close goes smooth, I must admit I love the challenges that often arise. That is the part that is so much like farming was. Managing the transaction through the barriers in the way.
